THE ROOT CAUSE OF STRESS

A couple of years ago I started an investigation on how we can eliminate the root cause of stress and still ensure great team performance. Stress is divided into healthy stress that we can control and unhealthy stress when we are exposed to situations out of our coping abilities. One of the key findings is that technology solutions are the main root cause of stress we experience today.

We are blindly digging down our own grave without being more critical to the constantly upcoming, often underdeveloped new technologies, solutions and AI that impact our minds.

The figure below indicates how today’s technology solutions, social media and AI impact our mental health and represent the root cause of stress. Sold as smart easy fixes of current problems, they create an illusionary feeling of control which often turns out to be false and impact our coping abilities. As you have heard many times- it is not the product that has a problem, it is people that are too dump. With that thought we get more stressed, our performance decreases and the lack of coping abilities creates fear and mental health issues. We desperately start seeking a new way of controlling the situation and turn to new, often underdeveloped, untested but smart and “simple” solutions.

So, it all comes into a circle and creates a “delta virus effect” that slowly and almost invisibly divides our nerve system into bits and pieces and acts like Zoya- the destroyer ghost: Dividing and conquering people, companies, societies, countries on many levels.

So, what should we do about it?

First, we need to WAKE UP AND BE CONSCIOUS that Software and AI solutions are the root cause of unhealthy stress that impacts our performance and mental health. We must step up and be critical to new applications. We must focus on a completely new set of new regulations protecting humans not androids.

Finally, we must reclaim the power to people and start finding solutions within ourselves and within our teams by simply spending more time with each other and using our minds to organize our team work flow rather than apps/ smart software or AI that creates illusionary control.

Based on the results of my extensive research, I have developed a new solution – organic innovation, a new human-centered direction in optimizing performance of team – work – flow.  The Organnovation method can help you do it in a simple way. Remember, that each employee in your team has a huge potential of unused resources. Increase your return on investment by activating your team minds.
